Report Of 75th Annual Meeting

The 75th Annual Meeting of Tri-Point Federal Credit Union was held on Friday, May 7, 2010, at F. Tambellini Restaurant in Downtown Pittsburgh. Forty-one members and guests attended the meeting and received reports on the financial condition and safety and soundness of the credit union.

Mr. George Kenhart presented the President's Report, in which he spoke of the 2009 operating loss of the credit union. The weak economy and very low investment income rates played a part in the loss but much of it was attributable to assessments every credit union received during the course of the year. Unlike the banking and financial giants who received bailout funds from the government, the credit union system chose to use its own funds. Our credit union paid assessments for the increase of the Share Insurance Fund to $250,000 and to keep the Corporate Credit Union system running effectively. Mr. Kenhart also spoke of the 75 years of our credit union and how it has grown into a full service financial institution.

Elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors were Marcy Ashley and Dianna Adams. Marcy Ashley was again named Chairman of the Board at the reorganization meeting that followed.

Everyone enjoyed a fine dinner and an evening of comradeship. Anyone wishing to receive a copy of the 2009 Financial Report Booklet presented at the Annual Meeting may call or write the credit union office.
